Affiliate disclosure

Last updated July 2026

PlainBody is reader-supported. This page explains exactly how we make money and why it does not bend a single score.

How we make money

Some of our buy links are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, the retailer pays us a small commission, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

What it does not change

Commission never affects a PlainScore, a rating, or what we say about an ingredient. Here is how we keep that true:

  • Scores are computed by a fixed rubric from the ingredient list, before any link is added.
  • The same rubric grades a product whether or not we can earn anything on it.
  • When an ingredient is feared but fine, we say so; when a concern is real, we say that too, whoever sells the product.
  • No brand can pay for a rating, a better score, or a placement. We do not accept that.

The full method is on our how we score page, and every score shows its own math so you can check it.

Where you will see it

Affiliate links are marked at the point of use with a short note, and outbound buy links carry the standard nofollow sponsored attributes. This page is the full version of that note.
